Seller Agreement
Effective October 1, 2026 · version 2026-10-01
Becoming a seller
Listing an item requires a verified account, an account holder at least 18 years old, and acceptance of this agreement. Stripe onboarding, which verifies your identity and connects your bank account for payouts, is required only when a buyer will pay you through Checkout: a priced listing, or an offer you accept. An open-to-offers listing can go up without Stripe. By onboarding you also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Tile Collector never sees your bank details.
What you promise about your listings
- You own the set or mat (or have disclosed, with permission, that you are selling it for someone else) and physically have it.
- It is what the listing says it is: the maker, line, and colorway, or for a vintage set, an honest account of what is known and what is not.
- Your description and photos are accurate: your own photos of the actual item, its condition described plainly, and every flaw disclosed, including chips, cracks, discoloration, replaced tiles, a missing or damaged case, and smoke or other odors.
- On a priced listing the ask is real and you will complete the sale if a buyer pays it. On an open-to-offers listing you will respond in good faith.
Shipping obligations
These rules apply to sales paid through Checkout. A deal you arrange by message and pay some other way is outside the claim process.
- Ship within 3 business days of the sale.
- Pack to the Shipping Policy: tiles wrapped so they cannot rub or knock together, and a case that cannot open in transit.
- Add the tracking number to the order. An order without tracking is treated as unshipped in a claim.
- Ship to US addresses only, by USPS or UPS: Checkout collects a US address and accepts only those two carriers.
- Insure anything over $100. Until delivery, loss or damage in transit is the seller’s risk.
Fees and payouts
Sellers pay no Tile Collector platform fee. Buyers pay a service fee on top of your ask and shipping, or on top of an accepted offer, shown at checkout and published on the Fees page. It covers the platform fee and Stripe’s card processing. An accepted offer is your full net, shipping included. Changes to the fee schedule are posted at least 30 days ahead and emailed to sellers with active listings.
Each Checkout sale is a payment directly to your Stripe connected account: you are the merchant of record, Stripe takes its processing charge from that payment, and Tile Collector collects its platform fee as an application fee. Checkout accepts US-issued cards and US addresses only. On a normal completed sale, what remains before any reserve or account adjustment is your ask plus shipping, or the accepted offer. Stripe controls payout timing and may hold funds; Tile Collector does not hold them.
Claims, refunds, and chargebacks
If a buyer’s claim under the Buyer Protection Policy is upheld, Tile Collector starts a full refund against the payment on your Stripe connected account. The refund reduces your Stripe balance and may make it negative. You owe amounts attributable to your sales and must repay them as this agreement and the Stripe Connected Account Agreement require.
Chargebacks filed with a buyer’s bank are separate from our claims, follow the card networks’ rules, and can arrive months after a sale. Chargebacks, dispute fees, refunds, and negative balances from your sales remain your responsibility, even where our Stripe setup makes Tile Collector answerable to Stripe for them.
Taxes
You are responsible for any taxes on your sales. Stripe decides whether it must issue an information return such as Form 1099-K for your payments; keep your Stripe tax details current. Where marketplace facilitator laws require it, once we are registered in that state, sales tax is calculated and collected at checkout and shown before payment.
Enforcement
Not shipping, misdescribing an item, selling a counterfeit, or steering a buyer to pay outside Checkout to avoid fees can lead to listing removal, loss of Checkout on your listings, and permanent loss of selling. Questions: hello@tilecollector.app.
